Adding Your First Site

Connect your website to Brokenly by adding your sitemap URL.

Brokenly uses your sitemap to discover pages and find affiliate links. Here's how to add a site.

Finding Your Sitemap URL

Most sites have a sitemap at one of these URLs:

  • https://yourdomain.com/wp-sitemap.xml (WordPress)

You can also check your robots.txt file for a Sitemap: directive.

Adding the Site

  1. Go to the Sites page and click Add Site
  2. Enter a Site Name to identify it in your dashboard
  3. Paste your Sitemap URL
  4. Save — Brokenly fetches your sitemap and queues the first crawl

What Happens Next

Once you add a site, Brokenly:

  1. Fetches your sitemap and parses every page URL
  2. Crawls each page to find affiliate links
  3. Verifies each link with an HTTP check, plus an extra availability check for Amazon products
  4. Assigns each link a status — Healthy, Broken, Blocked, Redirects to Homepage, Out of Stock, etc.
  5. If you have alerts enabled and the crawl turned up new problem links, sends one summary email

The first crawl typically takes a few minutes; larger sites can take longer.

Supported Sitemap Formats

  • Standard XML sitemaps
  • Sitemap index files (with multiple nested sitemaps)
  • WordPress (/wp-sitemap.xml)
  • Yoast SEO and RankMath sitemap indexes

If your sitemap is behind authentication or uses a non-standard format, contact us and we'll help you get set up.
